"'Les Vieux Fourneaux' tells the story of three septuagenarians who have been friends since childhood: Antoine, Emile and Pierrot. They have each taken different paths in life, made different choices, started (or not started) their own families. Legacies, memories, fragments of a life that's almost over... but these three still have a reason to live, and a strong friendship to keep them going. 'Les Vieux Fourneaux' moves back and forth between the 50s and the present day, telling the tragic-comic tale of our time, with all of its social, political and cultural upheavals."
T1 The Old Geezers
Three old geezers, activists, and lifelong friends reunite at the funeral of the wife of one of them, Antoine, who finds out about a long ago liaison between his dearly departed and the reviled billionaire who owns the factory they all worked in. Livid, Antoine jumps in his car and heads for Italy with revenge on his mind, his two buddies and his pregnant granddaughter following close behind. A chance to reminisce about the past, to fantasize about sticking it to the man, to discuss what's wrong with the world, to bridge the generation gap, to forgive and forget and settle scores. A wickedly funny geriatric road trip!
T2 The Old Geezers
The Old Geezers and friends are back with a vengeance, protesting, detonating all manner of homemade bombs, shutting down trendy hipster bars, challenging the bread manufacturing industry, and planning fun mayhem. But Pierrot, our favorite anarchist, is heart-broken and depressed over the sudden reappearance of his long-lost love, and has vowed to find her at all costs after receiving a mysterious package in the mail containing a fortune in euros and her coded signature. It's going to take clever scheming on the part of a young new activist to set things right again and restore him to the wisecracking, crotchety old geezer his friends all know and love.
T3 The Old Geezers
Things aren't looking so good for the Geezers... one of them's in the hospital, the other's been arrested, and the third one is dealing with leaky roofs, drowning sheep, and eggs he doesn't approve of. Two new characters make their appearance in this book, and through their stories we are taken to shark-infested waters and treasure-hunting in the Pacific, to village fairs, rugby matches, broken hearts, and behavior unbefitting neighbors--which continues to this day. Thank goodness young Sophie and her puppets are around to keep these old men in check.
T4 The Old Geezers
Peaceful country living consisting of leaky roofs, puppet shows, and drinks and arguments at the local tavern is disturbed when a rare species of grasshopper is discovered in a local field, and suddenly environmentalists, politicians, hunters, Big Pharma, union people, mushroom pickers and geriatric anarchists are all loudly fighting for what they believe is the right approach to things. In the midst of all this, one love story may be blooming in spite of a curse, another may be doomed for good and for poop, and questions of paternity arise yet again. Now available in print from Ablaze Publishing
