"In 1945, the war in Europe is over. Camp survivors have no homes to go back to and they want only one thing – to leave Europe. No country wants to welcome them. They could feel safe in only one place, a Jewish state that does not yet exist, though it had once been promised by the British. Without any hesitation, ""displaced persons"" are once again herded behind barbed wire. In some cases, they remain in the same camps from which they were supposedly liberated. A brigade forms along the frontiers of Italy, Austria and Yugoslavia, under the watchful eye of the British army. This brigade decides to do justice as it sees fit. Across Europe, the news spreads – a Jewish army in Europe! Armed Jewish soldiers! The brigade goes into action. It devotes itself to saving Jews and will stop at nothing. It is willing to go even further; tracking down Nazi war criminals not being a priority for the Allies, the brigade decides it will find them on its own. When it succeeds, it settles the score quickly and mercilessly."
T1 The Jewish Brigade
For this first installment of "The Jewish Brigade" we find ourselves in 1945 Poland. Leslie and Ari, two British soldiers, carry out an ambush near a church. They're looking for a priest... that Leslie then kills. He was an SS agent. The two men get back on the road; other missions await. Marvano takes us through the ranks of one of the least known divisions of the British army.
T2 The Jewish Brigade
This second volume begins in July 1945. Despite the peace agreement signed on the 8th May, Europe is in complete chaos... In the midst of all the violence, Ari and Leslie, still members of the Jewish Brigade, part company. Ari decides to guide his people towards a promised land that is finally becoming a reality, while Leslie continues his Nazi hunt. Both are trying to find a sense of meaning after the horrors of war.
T3 The Jewish Brigade
The armistice of May 8th 1945 marks the end of the Second World War. In Europe, weapons are laid down and the camps are liberated. In 1947, the United Nations' Resolution 181 outlines the partition plan for Palestine into two states - Jewish and Arab. But still, blood continues to be spilt. Through Leslie Toliver, member of the Jewish Brigade, Marvano narrates the long road to the creation of Israel, a road obstructed by terrorist attacks, death, hate and fear. The war is not over for everyone.
