Pym is a young boy who lives in a forest clearing with his grandmother and their companions: Ned—a talkative owl who can't fly—and Hector—a rather taciturn bipedal horse. He dreams of traveling to Windhill, the town that so often appears in the wonderful stories his grandmother tells. But the screamers—sinister creatures who haunt the forest— stand in his way. Yet despite the danger, and the secrets and lies that have surrounded him since birth, Pym is destined for something extraordinary—something that will demand great courage.
